5QT SmartStore® Stirring Popcorn Maker

At our house we are popcorn fanatics! W e usually stick to an air popper…so this was our first time using this style. We made the kettle corn recipe. Turned out great! Although, I think I might want to use brown sugar instead of regular white sugar… Also, once it’s done popping flip it immediately so you don’t burn your popcorn! We waited a few seconds too long and burnt a few pieces. The popcorn is nice and crispy, which we love! The kids are dancing while eating so you know that’s a success story!

I have cleaned the non-stick surface multiple times with soapy, then damp, then dry washcloths multiple times. I have heat cycled it at least 6 times ( 5-8 minutes on, then 15-20 minutes to cool down completely). I have made a baking soda paste and coated the surface and let it sit for 12+ hours before washing the surface again. I have also made 2 sacrificial pops of popcorn and it still gives off a very strong chemically smell every time the surface warms. Even after all that, I can still smell it if the sun shines on the thing. I will be returning this cooker. Waste of time and money.
