Rapid Egg Cooker

Setup was easy to do. I was worried about puncturing the egg but it worked great and nothing shattered in my hand. You want to leave this unplugged anytime it’s not actively in use. I just plugged it in, never turned it on by pushing the button and the heating plate got hot in just couple minutes. I had to unplug it in order for it to stay cool. Gotta say this doesn’t seem very safe. Why have a power button if plugging it in gets it hot? It does in every piece of card, manual, part description paper insert etc to push the power button when it chimes to turn it off and to then immediately unplug it. I would feel safer if it only got hot AFTER turning on the power. I don’t have kids living here anymore. So I’ll just be vigilant about unplugging it. Here’s hoping I never forget. There’s no timer for cooking the eggs to preferred style. it comes with a little measuring cup that has lines on it for the level of doneness. It has a sensor that recognizes when the water is gone and sounds the done chime automatically. I cooked 7 hard boiled eggs. It says in manual that it should take 16 mins. I do not think it took that long. But I didn’t set a timer so I guess I’ll find out when I remove the shell. 4/5 Stars because I wish it didn’t begin heating when plugged in.
