Text blockReady for one sweet read? Dash co-founder and co-CEO Evan Dash has crafted a handy how-to for being the dash of good you want to see in the business world.

About the Book

A former hometown firefighter, Evan left the firehouse for the boardroom, entering the competitive New York City corporate retail world to eventually become a Senior Vice President at Macy’s. Somewhere along the way, Evan realized he’d lost sight of the customer and had begun neglecting the principles that accelerated his success. The book outlines Evan’s journey of self-discovery and the subsequent founding of StoreBound, Dash’s parent company. Dash was founded with one simple mission: to enrich the lives of others through kindness, community, and feel-good kitchen products that making cooking fun.

Mining his years in service as a firefighter and decades of corporate retail experience, Evan has crafted a handbook of easy-to-implement entrepreneurial advice focused on practicing empathy and working to build culture and community with both employees and customers. As you turn the pages of this playbook for building value based on values, remember just one thing: Guac may be extra, but kindness is always free!

    Handy waffle maker

I received and tested out the Dash mini waffle maker and wow, it’s small but mighty! The appliance has a nonstick surface which makes the waffles slide out easily. It gets super hot and the waffles cook very quickly and evenly. It’s easy to clean as well. I brushed on canola oil on both sides, before pouring the batter in, and used a silicone brush. I also used a silicone spatula to remove the waffles. The book by Evan Dash was a nice extra add on. It’s 261 pages long and I read it in about a week. It’s a great story about the history of how Dash became a household name for small kitchen appliances. He outlined the ups and downs of entrepreneurship and the importance of work/life balance and valuing your workers. I would highly recommend this waffle maker.  [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
