Can’t wait to use it this summer!! This Shave Ice maker is super lightweight and is completely made out of light plastic. I don’t know how it will hold up over time, but it could definitely be travel friendly. It’s very easy to use. My kids actually made slushies last night and I wasn’t worried about them getting hurt at all. The only sharp piece is tucked under the top of the machine. You’d really have to work to get to it with your hand. It comes with a recipe book, which has tons of non-alcoholic beverages in it. You’re not stuck with just using the colored flavoring that you buy at the store. Go buy it. I mean, who doesn’t want a frozen margarita while sitting in the sun?
