Rapid Kettle

I have one that I bought approximately 11 years ago which I use quite a few times everyday. Works as if were new, It's stainless steel , heats water quite quickly. The only thing bad I have to say is that the "finishing" at the top of the handle near where you push the button/lever to fill the pot is finished with some sort of laminated layer which has bubbled and started to peel off. It does not affect the function - but aesthetically detracts the overall appearance. I am thinking of buying a Dash long slot toaster due to the great good long life the rapid kettle is giving me (I hope it does not die soon after writing this review.

A little better quality at a better price, but things have gone up in price in general. Kind of bigger that other electric kettles used in past, but I think might be more durable. I think all electric water kettles are hot to touch except handle area, but I'd wondered if this was a little hotter. But I don't think I hardly touched the ones of the past, or I would definitely remember. This one for the first time, I touched it in the beginning of operation, and reminded myself not to do that, which you shouldn't. I must of subconsciously always done this with the ones of the past <various brands, I'm 58 years old, & around last 12-15 years have been using electric water kettles that need replacing every 2-4~ years,> due to knowing at one that the particular area of the kettle gets hot. Kind of like when getting a new car or a car rental, for the first day or so driving it seems a little different & you take more note of things, and then in no time your use to driving it.
