Ingredients

  • ½ cup canned chickpeas, well-rinsed

  • 1 clove garlic

  • ½ cup red onion

  • 1 handful fresh parsley

  • 1 cup baby spinach

  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder

  • ½ teaspoon sea salt

  • Black pepper, to taste

  • ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil

  • 1 cup chickpea flour

Optional Fillings:

  • Cherry tomatoes, sliced

  • Cucumbers, sliced

  • Fresh parsley

  • Tzatziki sauce

  • Hot sauce

Instructions

  1. Add garlic clove and onion to a food processor and pulse until minced. Add in the chickpeas, parsley, spinach, cumin, salt, pepper, and olive oil. Blend until combined but not completely smooth. Transfer mixture to a bowl and stir in chickpea flour until incorporated.

  2. Preheat the Mini Waffle Bowl Maker and lightly grease the cooking surfaces with oil.

  3. Scoop about 3 tablespoons of the mixture into the Maker. Close the lid and cook until golden brown and crisp.

  4. Carefully remove and let cool slightly before filling.

  5. Top with your favorite fillings like tomatoes, cucumbers, parsley, tzatziki, or hot sauce and enjoy this crispy, savory, and falaf-fully delicious waffle bowl!
