Ingredients
4 tablespoons butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 large eggs, at room temperature
⅓ cup maple syrup
¼ cup packed brown sugar
½ cup milk
2 cups flour (whole wheat pastry flour or cake flour)
1½ teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon salt
Glaze:
4 tablespoons butter
⅓ cup maple syrup
1 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
6-8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled

Instructions
In a medium mixing bowl, stir together melted butter, eggs, vanilla, maple syrup, brown sugar, and milk until combined. Add flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt and mix until just combined.
Preheat the Donut Maker and grease with a light coating of cooking oil.
Pour batter into donut molds until they are about ¾ full. Cook for 4-5 minutes or until firm to touch and golden brown. Remove and allow to cool for 3-5 minutes. Repeat with remaining batter.
Allow to cool completely before glazing.
Make the glaze by adding butter to a small saucepan set over medium heat. Allow butter to melt and brown slightly until it smells toasted, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and whisk in maple syrup, powdered sugar, and vanilla.
Dip the donuts into the glaze and set onto wire cooling rack to set. While glaze is wet, sprinkle with crumbled bacon.
Serve while still warm and enjoy this sweet & savory treat!
