Instructions

Make the Pizzelles

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

  2. Add the melted butter, eggs, and vanilla (or anise extract). Stir until combined.

  3. Scoop 1 heaping tablespoon of batter into the Mini Pizzelle Maker and cook for 3–4 minutes, or until golden brown.

  4. While the pizzelles are still warm, wrap them around a ¾-inch wooden dowel to form a tube shape. Allow them to cool completely in this shape.

Make the Filling

  1. In a mixing bowl, whip the cream until light and fluffy.

  2. In a separate bowl, mix the ricotta cheese with the powdered sugar. Gently fold in the whipped cream and chocolate chips until combined.

Assemble the Cannoli

  1. When ready to serve, pipe or spoon a few tablespoons of filling into each pizzelle cannoli and garnish with additional chocolate chips.

  2. These pizzelles will have you saying, “holy cannoli, these are delicious!”

Chef's Tips

For the crispiest cannoli, store the pizzelle shells and filling separately until just before serving. Chill the filling for at least 30 minutes before piping for easier handling.
