Ingredients

  • 1½ cups flour

  • 2 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  • Pinch of salt

  • 1¼ cups milk

  • ½ cup unsweetened applesauce

  • 4 tablespoons butter

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together egg, milk, and melted butter. Add wet ingredients to dry and mix until just incorporated.

  3. Preheat the Mini Waffle Maker and grease with a light coating of cooking oil. Pour 3-4 tablespoons of batter into the Mini Waffle Maker and cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes. Repeat with remaining batter.

  4. To serve, top with a drizzle of maple syrup and fresh fruit to sweeten the deal and enjoy waffles that are simply awesome sauce!
